Chanukah - Day 2

Borrowed from Revelation 13 (with a few explanations)
. And I saw a beast (Antiochus Epiphanes ) coming out of the sea (the world of the Gentiles). He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard (Greece), but had feet like those of a bear (Persia) and a mouth like that of a lion (Babylon). The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound (2 Macc 5:5) , but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast (at least the Hellenistic Jews). Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast (he called himself Epiphanes) and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"
. The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. (Josephus, Wars of the Jews V,9,4) He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them (conquering Jerusalem and desecrating the Temple). And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation (Egypt, Syria, Babylon and more). All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.
. .He who has an ear, let him hear.
. .If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed.
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

  1. The beast mentioned Revelation 13:1-4 is the same one as mentioned in Daniel 7:7, when fully formed it will be world government ruling over humanity in ten regions of global governance. Through global corporatism it will direct mankind's seven institutions.

God designed from eternity past, that mankind be ruled by seven kingdoms; the first five are found in Daniel 2:30-33
    1) First, Babylonian, Head of Gold and 2) Second, Medo-Persian, Chest and Arms of Silver and 3) Third, Greek, Belly and Thighs of Bronze … Daniel 2:30-32
    4) Fourth, Roman, Legs of Iron and 5) Fifth, Revived Roman Empire-European Union, Feet of Iron And Clay … Daniel 2:33
    6) Sixth, when fully formed will be world government, Daniel 7:7 and Revelation 13:1-4, where we see a beast of global governance ruling through global corporatism and global governance.
    7) Seventh, is Christ’s rule and reign on planet earth for a thousand years. And as foretold by the prophet in Daniel 2:34, the Lord is coming to destroy man’s rule on earth.

  2. . As you can tell from a September posting, I took 6 months to study Revelation. In my study I decided to eliminate (as much as possible) a study of the end times from my review of Revelation. There are many other themes there.
. In my previous readings, I found a focus on eschatology missed many of the main points of the book, and also went astray because they let current events dictate interpretation. Example: in the 19th century scholars named Pope Pius IX as the AntiChrist. They were wrong.
. The study was enlightening. One of the things I found in Revelation 13 was the partnership between Church and State. The theme ... which can be used to see if our current situation is the end times ... is that of a self-serving state and a power hungry church who team up together to bring the world to serve them.
. As I look at previous kingdoms: Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome ... They always have control of the central city of the world: Jerusalem. Currently that is not true of EU. I also feel AntiChrist (from the ocean) is a Gentile; FalsePriest (from the land) is Jewish.
. Revelation 17 covers the economic aspects of the world. THe nations of the world become drunk with the lust of luxury (driven by money). The AntiChrist hates the prostitute when her power to prouduce luxuries runs out (17:16). We could be seeing this today as the economy falters.
